In most of his self portraits,, this artist viewed himself straightforwardly. In his 1658 portrait, Rembrandt brought more life to the painting by adding emphasis to the eyes of the painting. He drew himself as he would draw any other. This was a way he expressed himself through life. He decided to draw himself because of the fascination he had for the human body, and figured that he was the best candidate for it. His work only got better afterward. He was recognized evrn more for his work.

Rembrandt's self portraits seem to be very dark and serious. Most of the portaits look to have a curious look on there face. Eyebrows look raised and head alittle tilted. Colors are very dark mostly red, black, and a hint of dark yellow. Also, looks like very little light is being used.
